UnFancy Food Show

That's right kids!

Now you too will have the opportunity to rub elbows with the artisan elite of the the North East food scene all in a friendly bar setting in South Williamsburg.

Sasha Davies (formerly of Artesenal and Murray's Cheese) and I are putting on a who's who of local producers in the back yard of the East River Bar on S. 6th st.

Attendees are:

Mateo of Jasper Hill Creamery

Jessica Applestone of Fleischer's Grass Fed Meats

Gorilla Coffee

Consider Bardwell Farm

Sebastian of In Pursuit of Tea

Roger Repohl of Bronx honey fame

Jon from Wheelhouse Pickles

Taza Stone Ground Chocolate

And more!

The fun begins at 1 PM Sunday July, 8th and goes until the Bike Messenger Film Festival takes over the bar after dark.

Come and buy your favorite food producer a frosty beer. They deserve it!

Trust me people, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and chat it up with the people who are changing the way we eat in NYC for the better.

Be there or get effed!

A great idea - I wish I wasn't going to be out of town. Damn. You should sponsor a beard contest as well, since I know you love farmers' market beardos!

Not to be exclusionist but I basically invited all of the local food producers (i.e. makers of goods, cheese, honey, etc.) that I have been buying from for the past few years since I moved to NYC.

Sorry, but 1) I don't have a relationship with you and 2) you don't make a good that could be say, sold at a Farmer's market.

I hope you aren't offended but this isn't about pressing flesh and networking, it's about rounding up a community of people that are actually changing the way we eat and our relationship to the way food is produced.

It may seem a bit unGroceryGuy-like to wax so faux profound but, if there is one thing that I believe in and one thing that gets me up every morning, it is this small group who I have grown to love and respect. This day in July is for them.

Nice. Will they be selling their goods? Or is this exclusively a meet and greet???
